Two new recordings by the Athens, GA collective Supercluster will be available on March 29, 2011. ''Paris Effect''-a dreamy, wistful haze anchored by a wall of sound and pristine guitar, and an infectiously catchy cover of ''Neat in the Street'' written by legendary Athens, GA band The Side Effects. (The Side Effects shared the bill at R.E.M.'s debut). Both were mixed and engineered at Bel*Air Studios, Athens, GA by Jason NeSmith; Vinyl mastering by Aardvark, Denver, Colorado; Pressed by Erika Records, California, USA; Label graphics by Candy, Athens,GA Supercluster feature a ''dream team'' of musicians including Vanessa Hay (Pylon), Hannah Jones (The New Sound Of Numbers), Kay Stanton and Jason NeSmith (Casper & The Cookies),Bryan Poole (of Montreal/the late bp helium) Bob Hay (Squalls/Bob Hay & the Jolly Beggars), Bill David (North Georgia Bluegrass, Monkey), and John Fernandes (Olivia Tremor Control, Circulatory System and many others). Supercluster's sound is best described as ''Appalachian Wave,'' a combination of electric and acoustic instruments with a blending of bluegrass, European folk, Krautrock, and new wave musical styles. Supercluster have performed at 500 Songs for Kids, Athfest, and Athens Popfest and are next scheduled to appear at a huge party at SXSW 2011 with a tour now being booked. In the summer of 2010 they opened several high profile shows for the B-52s including New York, Wolftrap, and Pennsylvania.
