Memphis son Jay Reatard has come a long way since his days in young snot nosed punks The Reatards and Lost Sounds. "Blood Visions" is Jay's first solo effort, and although it's still anchored in the very same punk rock attitude that was the trademark of his two previous bands, "Blood Vision" takes a poppier and more direct route. This has resulted in one of the most lauded rock'n'roll albums of 2007. Jay's knack for short, sharp, blistering hook-filled songs have earned him comparisons to everyone from Wire, G.G, Allin, The Sonics, and The Oblivians.
