Dead Meadow is the reason for the resurgence of heavy psychedelic rock. Now, deep from the Indiana farmland Dead Meadow brings US their lush second release HOWLS FROM THE HILLS in freshly detailed and re-mastered form. The second release in a 3-part reissue series is the 2001 HOWLS FROM THE HILLS. Recorded in a boom barn in Indiana the sound becomes fuller without being overcomplicated. Live, organic essence and encompassing ambient guitar played in psych-funk sludge, sparse blues-folk ballads to distorted barbiturate space-rock Dead Meadow becomes it's own. Re-mastered from the original tapes by Greg Calbi of Sterling Sound who has worked with the likes of John Lennon and Led Zeppelin. |
