The Grapes are the dynamic duo of Ashley Naylor from the iconic melbourne duo Even and the angel-voiced alt country singer-songwriter Sherry Rich. Their vocals blend seamlessly with pure pop arrangements and sterling fretwork on singles influences by classic 60's and 70's garage, psychedelia folk and country rock.
To mark the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album, The Grapes are releasing their 1999 self-titled album for the first time on vinyl.
The LP has been completely remastered and features Grapes favourites 'I Wont Cry' and 'Ocean Meets The Sun' as well as their telling covers of Gene Clark's 'So You Say You Lost Your Baby' and The Bee Gees' 'Kitty Can'.
The album has been pressed on an extremely limited edition run of 150 gram GRAPE COLOURED vinyl and is available via Rubber Records.
To celebrate the 20 th anniversary and the release of the album on vinyl, the duo are banding together for a special evening at The Ember Lounge at the Memo Music Hall. Ashley and Sherry will play the album from top to bottom and bless the audience a bunch more of their 60s/70s flavoured folk-rock tunes in an intimate show featuring special guests this November 12.
"Naylor and Rich's innate and extremely natural ability to weave rich melody that engages and enraptures even the most unsuspecting listener ensures that such spellbinding performances stick in the mind." - Graham Buckly (Beat Magazine)
