Six Organs of Admittance roars again, with the rock-and-rolling Ascent! Ben Chasny has been making records as Six Organs of Admittance since 1998, and since 2003, has also been involved with the psych-rock juggernaut, Comets On Fire, In 2012 the two come together for a brand new Six Organs album, recorded with the force of a full band, The result is a far heavier sound, moving further away from the alt/folk origins of Chasny's earlier work, This is as much of a departure for Six Organs as Compathia was back in 2003 - and that's interesting, since this album shares several songs with that former must-hear, Turns out that back when Ben Chasny was falling in with Comets on Fire there was a moment when if he wasn't going to join them, they were gonna join him! Recordings were made and then shelved as other equally awesome stuff was flying out fast and furious - but not this new space-epic, Ben felt that a little real-time time travel back to the past might be a good thing - and so he called upon his mates to join him down the old path not taken, Ascent is the result!
