The classic 1981 album Chemistry by MONDO ROCK gets the Double CD Remastered and Expanded Edition treatment courtesy of Aztec Records, As well as boasting four national hit singles - all staples of Classic Hits radio to this day - Chemistry now features rare B-sides, four previously unreleased demos plus an extra disc of live material (much of which has never been aired before).

The 1980s was a significant time in the history of Australian music, a time when Mondo Rock was one of the nation's premier bands, matching it with the biggest names in the land - Cold Chisel, INXS, Divinyls, The Angels, Midnight Oil, Icehouse, Split Enz etc.., What helped set the Mondos apart was the presence of venerable front man ROSS WILSON and expressive guitarist ERIC McCUSKER - both song writers of considerable skill and attention to detail, As leader of the vibrant Daddy Cool, Wilson had rocked the nation during the early 1970s with the enduring dance classic 'Eagle Rock', before forming this particular line-up of Mondo Rock in 1980.

Mondo Rock comprised Wilson, McCusker, versatile keyboardist / guitarist JAMES BLACK (these days a mainstay of the RocKwiz Orchestra), rock solid bassist PAUL CHRISTIE and dynamic drummer GIL MATTHEWS who was replaced by the equally dynamic JOHN-JAMES (J.J.) HACKETT, By way of ceaseless touring, Wilson established Mondo Rock as one of the most popular acts in Australia.

Chemistry hit #2 in August 1981 and yielded two national Top 10 hits, 'State of the Heart' (#1 in hometown Melbourne!) and 'Cool World' plus a further two Top 40 hits, 'Summer of 81' and 'Chemistry', The album retains a timeless quality, not only due to the sophisticated palette of sounds on offer but also the memorable song writing which is of a consistently high standard.
